Groups are subsets of your school or organization, like classrooms, caseworker groups, or after school provider programs. Groups are created by a school or organizational admin. For schools that connect to ReachWell through Clever, groups are automatically created for every classroom section in Clever.
Group admins are the staff members who can access and send messages to the group. Group admins don't need to spend time rostering or adding contacts to their group. Groups are pre-rostered and set up so that group admins can start sending messages immediately when they log in.
Group Admins' Permissions
Group Admins have the ability to:
Send messages to the groups they are assigned to
Edit group content, like the group’s banner, about section, and calendar
View the contacts and students that are connected to their assigned groups.
Directly chat with contacts in one-to-one conversations.
Group Types
There are three types of groups:
With Private groups, a contact is required to enter a code to receive this groups’ messages on the app. If a school uses Clever, private groups will be automatically created based on classroom sections in Clever.
With Opt In groups, a contact chooses to join a group, and they don’t need a code to be part of the group.
With Default groups, every contact is automatically enrolled in a group, and they can choose to opt-out, or stop receiving communication from that group.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are Group Admins created and assigned to groups within schools?
Typically, group admins are provisioned from the SIS system (Infiinte Campus, PowerSchool, etc.). When a teacher is designated as a primary or secondary teacher of a section/class in the SIS, they are created as a group admin in the ReachWell platform. The group admin is automatically assigned to those groups they're associated with.
Our system didn't create my admin profile. How do I get one?
We recommend the school admin add those staff as secondary teachers to those sections. This will automatically create and invite those staff members.
If that's not possible then Org/School Admins (Front Office Managers, Directors, Principals) have the ability to manually create group admins and associated them with groups. Click HERE for instructions.
Once created, those admins will be emailed invites to log in to ReachWell. If they fail to get their invite (SPAM filters) they may visit the dashboard and click "Forgot my Password" for a reset link to log in.
I co-teach a class with another admin, how can I be added to that class?
We recommend the school admin add additional staff as secondary teachers to those sections. This will automatically create and invite those staff members.
Alternative, a school admin may edit the group admin's profile and add them to additional groups.
