Connecting a Google Calendar to Your Group

Overview

This article details how group admins can sync your Google Calendar to ReachWell in order to share with contacts and families.
Don't want to set up a new Google Calendar? Learn how to connect an existing Google Classroom Calendar or Schoology Calendar. If you don't use Google, learn how to connect an Outlook Calendar.

Instructions

Please follow the instructions below to sync your group-wide Google Calendar to ReachWell.
  1. Open your Google Calendar Settings by logging in to Google Calendar. If you don't already have a family-facing calendar, follow the next few steps to set one up, and then continue with the remaining steps.
  2. To create a family-facing calendar, go to the right side of your calendar and click the plus icon next to Other Calendars.
         
  1. Select Create new calendar.
          
  1. Name the calendar and make sure the time zone is correct.
  2. Navigate back to your calendar view to locate the calendar from the left-hand column.
        
  1. Make sure your calendar is public.
      
  1. Select Integrate Calendar (red arrow) and the copy the Calendar ID (blue arrow).
       
  1. Navigate to your ReachWell Dashboard > Organizations > Groups page.
  2. Select Update Under the Calendar column

          

  1. Scroll down to Calendar and check the Activate Google Calendar box and paste the Calendar ID into the text box.


  2. Click Submit at the bottom. Now check out the app! You should see all your calendar events feeding into ReachWell (assuming you have events in your calendar).

Troubleshooting Missing Events

If a calendar event is not showing in ReachWell from a synced calendar, there are typically two reasons why this would occur
  1. The calendar that is synced to ReachWell is not being shared publicly. Visit THIS article for Google Calendar instructions.
  2. Or, the event was added to your personal calendar rather than the calendar synced to ReachWell.
