Launch Event (Back-to-School): Webinar and In-Person "App Station" - Contact Sync Launch
Overview
The highest adoption rate of new technology comes with a direct conversation from leadership. Hosting an app introduction webinar or adding "app stations" to your community events is a valuable and important step. We recommend making ReachWell app stations mandatory at all major school events.
Virtual: Webinar Instructions
- Schedule a date and time for the webinar. Invite contacts (i.e. families) through text, emails, robocalls, and paper handouts.
- A few hours before the webinar, text and email contacts instructions about downloading the app. Click HERE for instructions to text verification code invites.
- Present this slide deck and reference the speak notes for talking points: Presentation for Private Groups (Verify Contacts and Families).
- Once you've asked contacts to download the app, confirm that they've successfully downloaded it in any of the following ways:
- Ask them to turn on their cameras and show their phone screen.
- Ask them to reply to a message in their newsfeed to confirm they have downloaded and verified themselves on the app.
- Ask any families who have had trouble downloading the app to stay after the presentation so you can help them download and verify.
In-Person: App Station Instructions
- Plan the location: Set up a table at a bottleneck (entrance/exit) or a required stop for each guardian to visit. Ensure strong cellular coverage is available (wifi is usually not enough).
- A few hours before the event, text contacts instructions about downloading the app. Click HERE for instructions to send a text with their verification codes. This will speed up the process when families arrive at the App Station table.
- Download a CSV list of your contacts to easily find everyone's personal code when they check-in at the table. Click HERE for instructions on how to Bulk Export a list of contacts to CSV.
- Print and set out the ReachWell app download instructions. Click HERE for details.
- Assign a staff member to walk contacts and families through the process of downloading the ReachWell app, and then selecting their school and preferred language.
- The staff member at the App Station can use this presentation to introduce the app to families. If the event allows for a full presentation to all families at once, use the talking points below.
- OPTIONAL: Announce a drawing at the end of the week for all contacts and, at the end of the week, announce the winner via a push notification on the ReachWell app.
In-Person: Presentation
Be sure to have your event presenter or speaker make an announcement about ReachWell encouraging all contacts (i.e. families) to download the app to their mobile devices. We also recommend school leaders and teachers encourage this to help drive adoption. Download the following slide decks to present at your private and public events:

Talking Points
Take these key talking points and incorporate them into your script at the event!
- Begin by suggesting, “Everyone, please take out your phones and mobile devices."
- We’re excited to announce we've adopted an app called ReachWell to help you feel more engaged with our school, and the events and information that impact your students. It is through this app that we will be communicating important details and updates regularly. This includes things like <grades, homework assignments, volunteer opportunities, upcoming events, and more!>
- To ensure you stay connected with us, please navigate to the Apple or Google app store on your device and search for "ReachWell" to download this free app.
- Make sure to select to "Allow Push Notifications" when you access the app for the first time.
- The ReachWell app needs only about same amount of space on your device as two images. The app requires a minimal amount of WiFi or cellular data and most of the data usage is text-only.
- Once you’ve downloaded the ReachWell app, select the Add option to search for our school and then select the + Add option to select it.
- Select your preferred language by clicking the English option at the bottom left of the screen.
- Once you enter our page, the app will ask you for a code. We texted all codes to you earlier today. If you did not receive the text, or if you have trouble requesting a code from the app, please talk to the main office after the event.
- That’s it! You are now connected to ReachWell and will begin receiving all school-wide communications!
