Connecting App Announcements to a Website Newsfeed
Overview
Announcements sent to a school or organization will post to the newsfeed on the ReachWell application. Schools and organizations can request an add-on feature from their ReachWell rep, to connect the newsfeed to their website, also called post-to-web.
Tip: Post-to-web is through a feature called an RSS feed, or Really Simple Syndication. An RSS feed is a common widget on website builders.
Instructions
- Request from your ReachWell rep to turn on the post-to-web feature.
- Your rep will send you two links, one is the RSS link, and the other is website link that a newsfeed with all announcements.
- Use the RSS feed widget in your website building.
- Enter a title section, like "News and Updates."
- Below the title, enter the RSS feed link provided by your ReachWell rep.
- Most website builders will allow you to customize how many announcements appear on your website, how many characters of the message preview will show, and if you want to add the date the announcement was posted.
- Include a button at the bottom called "See Older News" using the website link.
- Save your website updates.
